Deborah Parsons

Deborah is a highly sought after feature film script editor and assessor. Her conservative estimate is that that she has written some 550 reader reports, the bulk of which were for Australian federal and state film funding bodies.

Deborah has been working in the film and television industry for over 25 years and has been a writer for some of Australia’s top television dramas including Blue Heelers, Good Guys Bad Guys, GP, Janus, Marshall Law, MDA, Out of the Blue, Headland, Phoenix, Police Rescue, Water Rats and Young Lions.

She wrote the AFI-nominated telemovie The Fish are Safe and two feature films, including the sci-fi, Zone 39. She has also written extensively for children, including Adventures on Kythera, a children’s action series, The Worst Day of My Life, Dance Academy and K-9.

Deborah Parsons is a specialist in genre. She has mentored film and TV students and has been a member of many screen writing conference panels.
